Please Help me from this Disaster! Took an hour to boot. Thank you for your advice. This is my first time ever having to post for computer help because I normally fix it myself. I would make a full backup before you do anything but you can also do this: this will refresh Win 10 but keep all your files and data.

In my opinion it seems like a file system issue, but I've never had this type of issue before. I am not a certified tech or anything, but everything I can see indicates this is definitely a hardware problem, not software. Max, i never said to re-install Windows 10. No additional software was installed which could've caused this problem. I haven't been practicing lately.

There's no point running a speed check unless first you make sure no other processes are using your disk. Format installing is probably the best way to go about this. Perhaps I'd prefer to believe these figures from Crystal Diskmark- try this program and see if you get different results. I use Windows Defender as an anti-virus program. Usually when you kill any task, which is causing high disk usage, computer returns to normal conditions by itself. I have tried disabling Superfetch and Windows search, but none have worked!. Turned off and we'll see what happens. Would have been difficult if not. It has never worked really well, but the performance has been degrading recently. Then sometimes after a while the hdd gets even ejected and copy fails and only after rebooting the system the hdd is visible again.
